Uniformity or Loss of Diversity ?

Go to New York, you get a KFC. Come to Bangalore, you have a KFC on Brigade. You can get a pepsi in SFO, Tokyo, Bangalore or even in a place like Maddur. Sometimes wonder where all the difference between various places in this world is going! Ppl wear a Lee, Levis here, so do ppl elsewhere. PPl use MS Windows here, so do ppl elsewhere. Ppl speak in English here, so do ppl elsewhere.

So, is all these major leaps in communication diminishing the diversity in this world ? Upon furthur thought, hope this loss of diversity diminishes the imparity too !

I may be switching to LiveJournel from next week. User name is inthing tentatively. Posting in both the places until then.

Is this ironic enuf .. ?

First and foremost, thanks guys for the efforts to prop me up and giving some specfic funda abt life. Thanks to ash, VC, loi and the forever anila. Thanks machas.

Last week as I glanced ashwin's blog, I saw my name along with ravee, gautam and guruprasad. To quote : "I am constantly inspired by people like Guruprasad, Nithin, Ravee, Gautham and the other great people behind DreamRoutes." ... Haa, me great (?) ?

The selfish nIthin, says thanks, but the nithin typing this says, No .. No .. Not me As an irony, someone who clicks that link finds that my current post is titled "Yen Kittakdhe .. ?" ... Makes me think again ...

In any case, forget that. Let me get into more material (ash says 'fun') things of life.

Flying high .. quite literally ...
Last Friday, I was flying at about 24000 ft about ground. Hmm, why bcoz I'd been to chennai for some work related work. Stayed at one of the best hotels. Had a swim. Finished my work to satisfaction and flew back. This was the first time I flew. More than me my grandmom was very happy :D

Had a pretty bad exp with auto drivers in Chennai. I never ever could imagine that a Metro, could have autos plying without using meters and relying merely on negotiation. The next auto driver was a good guy. He charged only 80 intead of 300. Strange are the ways of that place.

Yen Kittakdhe .. ?

ishtella maadi yen kittakdhe .. is a popular idiom in the local language here. This is the state of my life currently. All the thinking, all the turbulance, all the hardwork, .. yella maadi yen kittakdhe ? What has me achieved by all my doings over the past 1 year or so. Have I got got a hike, No, Have I got on some high mountains, NO, have I kept ppl happy, NO, Have I kept my self happy, NO. So what is the use of this kinda life. Change is the key.

Have to change my lifestyle .. as Loi says, have to do some refuelling and get going. Thats life.

To go it alone ... ??
Sitting at Infinitea at 7:30 PM on Sunday with Sundi and Sathy, this tought struck me. Not that its a kinda of revolution or something, Just a thought. To go for it alone or not go for it ? It can be anything, but the focus of my thought was outings. In college days, all we friends had went for something together whether we like it or not. In an year or so, we found our preferences, some of which were common like trekking, some uncommon like biking, travelling, rock climbing, Culture, dancing etc. Whenever I feel like going after my preferences, its been a habit to involve my friends. What do I do if my friends are not interested. Coax them and take them ? Leave them alone and you also be dont go ? Leave them alone and you go ? Sundi says going it together is better than going it alone, which tends to imply that going it alone in not OK. Sath says that going it alone is better than not going at all !

Which is better ? ... Upon some more thought I realize that I am not the only one who will be interested in something, there will be at least one more like me who may go after his/ her preferences rather than waiting for company .. so, the rationalist wins and I go after my preferences and would be happy to take anyone along/ meet anyone along !!
